Hillary Clinton Calls Obama Gay?

Not really. But there is quite a bit of prickly conclusion-jumping going on:

As Hillary wages a kind of culture war inside the Democratic Party, Mike Easley used something that sounded to John Aravosis like an anti-gay slur as she stood beside him this morning, saying that Hillary "makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy".

Aravosis: "In case anyone has been living under a rock, pansy is slang for 'fag.'"

That's how I heard it too.

Here's Merriam-Webster: a usually disparaging : a weak or effeminate man or boy b usually disparaging: a male homosexual

So, just cut out all the middlemen here --- Hillary Endorser = Hillary and Rocky Balboa = Baracky Obama and Pansy = Gay. Voila! Headline magic.

Besides, I think Gov. Easley really just wanted to say "pussy."
