Little Tyrants Upset Over Debate
Liberal outrage over the ABC News debate last night is at a fever pitch, with a familiar call to arms going out across the land --- shutting down free speech is a common, recurring wish of these free thinkers when challenged:
Daily Kos (yesterday)
President Barack should pull their [ABC's] Broadcasting License.
Code Pink (2005):
Clear Channel wants a new 8-year license to control our public airwaves, promote war, and use our music against us...Pull the plug on corporate radio and tell the FCC to hold Clear Channel accountable, or revoke their broadcast license.
Think Progress (2007)
It’s time to shut FOX news network down, revoke their broadcast license, force them into bankruptcy, and deport Rupert Murdoch back to Australia.
Democratic Underground (2004)
Fox News is a 24/7 campaign commercial for the Repukes...It should be banned from broadcasting within 60 days of the General Election...When Kerry wins he should pull their broadcast license ASAP.
Kazakhstan (2002)
The authorities continue to persecute the Almaty-based independent television TAN-TV. The Transport and Communication Ministry had said that it intends to revoke its broadcast license. The official explanation is that the company had failed "to remedy offenses and shortcomings."
"We were told: This your last chance. Take it or we in the Press Ministry will take you [broadcaster TV6] off the air," Kiselyov told The Moscow Times. "We trembled and lost our composure."
Venezuela (2007)
Venezuela's most-watched television station -- and outlet for the political opposition -- went off the air after the government refused to renew its broadcast license.
Kenya (2006)
Masked police with automatic rifles stormed a leading Kenyan media firm yesterday, kicking down doors, burning newspapers and forcing its television station off the air. Staff were forced on to the ground as officers ransacked the headquarters of Kenya Television Network and the printing press of The Standard, the country's oldest newspaper.
United States Senate (2006)
We therefore urge you to cancel this broadcast [The Path to 9/11] to cease Disney’s plans to use it as a teaching tool in schools across America through Scholastic. Presenting such deeply flawed and factually inaccurate misinformation to the American public and to children would be a gross miscarriage of your corporate and civic responsibility to the law, to your shareholders, and to the nation.
The Communications Act of 1934 provides your network with a free broadcast license predicated on the fundamental understanding of your principle obligation to act as a trustee of the public airwaves in serving the public interest.

UPDATE: Cool --- the better half of last night's live-blog duel, Jim Geraghty of National Review's Campaign Spot, stops by. Also, Ed Driscoll. Thanks, fellas!
UPDATE (4-18-08): Thanks for visiting, Conservative Grapevine, Protein Wisdom, and Don Surber readers. Want to get as angry as these little tyrants? Read about Obama & Bill Ayers (dirty word warning).
Great compilation of like minded tyrants. Bravo Cuffy! Bravo!

talk about "Truth to Power".
This is why the left so stridently wants to reimpose the Fairness Doctrine.

I am pretty sure cable networks don't have broadcast licenses.

Wow, I guess the POTUS will have all sorts of new powers if they happen to be DFL'ers.

Behold the freethinkers of the Democrat Party! Yep, every liberal I know (too many in my immediate circle) thinks debate and conversation are wonderful, as long as you agree with them! Once you punch a few holes in their little world they don't want to play anymore! Geez!

Democrat Drill Instructor:
Begin with your left foot... left...right..left...right...left...right...that's it..get in lock-step. And while you're marching in lock-step always think with your left side of the brain. Group think Baby! There are no individuals in our group.

>Begin with your left foot... left...right..left...right...left...right...that's it..get in lock-step.
Actually, it is "left . . . left . . . left . . . left . . . "

Thw Deranged Dem sites seem very free with the term "fascist" when accusing the right of something, and it just amazes me they can't see that the true fascists are themselves. I shudder at the blitheness with which they suggest shutting down outlets of free speech and thought. What intellectual thugs.
I was not happy with the choice of McCain, but it's things like this which make me understand what a catastrophe for the nation it would be for the Dems to gain control in November.

Brilliant Post...absolutely brilliant. Of course you realize that you have just become a target for elimination. The Borg will have no dissension.

Be sure to write ABC and commend them for actually asking real questions. You know the kos-ettes are sending denunciations and it is important for ABC to hear that some people out there value their objective questioning of the candidates.

If you ever want to silence a leftist immediately, send them this very funny picture about how their thoughts cause visible changes to their external appearance.
It is guaranteed to send a leftist into therapy.

At this point, Obama has about as much chance of becoming President as a liberal has of getting laid with a member of the opposite sex (i.e. slim to none).

Cuffy, they'll be enraged that you noted they were enraged enough to call for ignoring the Bill of Rights. It really sucks that such stupidity, and unintentional irony, as evidenced by the Kos writers exists to such a large extent in our country and it worries me greatly that they attract such a large following. All the evil machinations and characterizations they ascribe to conservatives are clearly visible in the bright light of their own writings. That's some sick petri dish they've got going on over there.

The blogosphere enabled the left. Before then, they had no 'gathering places' where people equally deranged could partake in a continually reinforcing spiral of groupthink, and delude themselves into thinking they are in the majority.
Before, they had to interact with others in person, in a society where most people would find them to be strange (and ugly).

"Rookie" is being used to refer to Obama since last night's debate. How soon before the left consider's the word as racist.

"[P]ull their...Broadcasting License"? "[R]evoke their broadcast license"? "The Communications Act of 1934 provides your network with a free broadcast license"? What tripe! Only *individual radio & TV stations* hold licenses, not *networks* or *cable services* or *corporations owning multiple stations*! Or so I thought, at least. Have I been Rip Van Winkled?

Obama said it himself. They don't care about anti-white racism. They don't care about underhanded money deals with gangsters. They don't care about associations with terrorists. The party of Jimmy Carter doesn't care about any of these things.

Hey, this is quite the circle-jerk you guys got going here. So who's squirted their jizz the farthest so far?

Watching the Democrats in this primary is like watching a combination porn movie plus massive automobile pile-up plus car chases plus a mafia-taking-to-the-mattresses kind of movie that you just can't take your eyes away from the screen. So in that sense, ExposeTheHypocrites, watching the Democrats self-destruct and eat their young is orgasmic. Didn't measure for distance but it looks like some is drooling out of the side of your mouth. How long have you been a catcher?
