If they spent more than 15 minutes talking about this, they already spent it.

The federal government spends $10 billion a day. Cut $100 million from it, and you've reduced today's expenditures by 1%.
Wow, what a meataxe this guy swings.

Does this mean Michelle will not have a full-time make-up artist, stylist, hairdresser and translator of Mao's Little Red Book??

One hundred million dollars. Three hundred million people. That's what, about a can of pop each?

i laughed until i stopped

That was funny =)
But...Obama did say he wants _each_ member of Congress to cut 100 million dollars. There are 100 members of Congress.
That means Obama asked _Congress_ to cut one hundred hundred million dollars...or ten billion.
So he asked congress to cut 10 billion dollars -- given the trillion dollar budget, it's not huge, but it's really not that laughable either, at least to me.

In fairness, Obama seems to be asking *each* Cabinet member to cut $100M. So, if there are ~20 in the Cabinet ... Okay, it's still peanuts, but hey.

Dr. Evil for president!

i guess the Cabinet Members will just have to do without their Vulcano Lairs until next year...

You (or someone equally creative) needs to throw in that line from the first Rocky movie: Stallone says, "I must have had $20 stolen from that locker over the years. It doesn't sound like much, but it adds up!"

He sure is great at the symbolism, isn't he? The substance, not so much.

The real question is wtf is each member of Congress doing spending $100M that they don't need to spend?
All these people should be run out of town.

Imagine going to a car dealership to buy a new car. The salesman tells you the price of the car is $35,000. You tell him you can't afford that much and get up to leave. He stops you and says "just to show you how serious I am about selling you this car, I'll knock a dollar off the price." Insulting? Yes. But that's the same ratio as proposing $100 million in cuts from a $3.5 trillion budget. Gimme a break.
