As the New Jersey governor's race heads into the home stretch, Democrat incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine gets desperate:

Entering (double)chin-stroking mode, tubby blogger Matthew Yglesias is concerned:

On the one hand, this seems like it couldn’t possibly work. Who’s going to be anything but repulsed from Corzine by these tactics? On the other, it does often seem that prejudice against the overweight is one of the last socially acceptable forms of prejudice. But this really looks to me like a (deserved) backlash waiting to happen.

I would say that Matthew Yglesias isn't "chubby;" he's what is called, in the public health community, a "lard ass."

Unsurprisingly, fatty Yglesias is in favor mandatory calorie-labeling for restaurants. He's too lazy to watch his own weight, so he wants the government to be his personal diet aid. He also hates how fat poor people are and thinks that public laws to stifle their uncontrollable appetites are the answer.
